Those are the firms I can trust for right now. I know they won't take on a client they know they cannot help, and I know they will not do anything that would harm a client's website with the major search engines. :) In other words, they will be totally straight-up with clients and give a client BS or say things just because the client wants to hear it.

They are all people with a proven track record, and who you can find have written hundreds to thousands of posts in forums with solid advice. You can already research their methods and thinking before you even contact them.

The biggest thing is that none of them are the lists you see out there from people in this industry who love to promote themselves and run around the social sites, etc. You don't find this list tooting their own horns at conferences either. Most of them go about their business while remaining very hidden from industry peers.

Many lists out there who simply the buddies/friends of the site who is listing them. Not my list. Some of the firms I listed don't like me at all, but that didn't stop me from listing them anyway.

its A very humbling idea.. ours is also SEO firm, but like what you had said i want my industry to discovery us by reviewing our track record on their own will, and not just for the link.

Sorry but that statement is wrong.
I see some names in that list from people that i've never met in these forums... and i'm a member since 2002 ! Some other haven't posted in several months or years or have dropped in occcasionaly.

But there are so many other better SEO firms any one can find them for Google search. Maybe, maybe not.
Are you suggesting that the SEO firms listed by Doug are not found in Google ?
If you remember SEO Inc, they were #1 on google for a very long time, until they got banned together with a lot of their clients.

If you look closer at Doug's list, you would notice that it are all ethical firms who practise white hat SEO only. Recommending someone is also a matter of trusting someone.
Note that not all white hat SEO's are ethical :)

I think about half the firms I list have absolutely nothing to do with me whatsoever.

Show me just ONE other SEO list out there where the owner is not biased in some way? Just one please. :)
