Hi everyone, I badly need help with a new contact page. I came in here because I know you're a trustworthy lot. :D I already had it done once but it's never really worked the way I wanted, and now I need to add some more detail. I'm up for paid help.

Anyone please?

Patty, how do you want it done? Can it be php?

If so, I've coded a contact page using php and sessions that will submit the data to a table in mysql and then email you upon completion of a contact submission.

The forms use sessions and hides a variable in the session that protects you against automated spam and the url the form submits to doesn't really exist.

It's done using .htaccess and mod_rewrite and creates a new post to url on the fly so it's never the same one twice (p*sses the spammers off! :D)

Anyway, it's not a "free" script. If you'd like more details, PM me. It's also valid XHTML, uses tabindex, accesskeys, etc (so it passes WAI-AAA).

Patty, go into your options in your user control panel and set your pm pop-up notification to "on" ... that way when you get the reply PM you'll get the js pop-up alert for the new pm.

:) (you have one now ... lol)

I feel so out of the loop :p

Debs option seems best since you can keep track of the contacts made. If you want a simple contact form there are so many free and easy scripts out there.

If at the end of this you still need help let me know and I can give you a copy of some scripts and the forms that I used to have it going in minutes.

Thanks Comeran, that's kind of you. I really need a tailor made script such as the one Deb has on offer. I need it personalized and I need to be Spam free. These spammers are driving me insane. If I could just get my hands round their knecks. Lol.

We would all love to get our hands on some of these spammers!

Best of luck, I am sure Deb's script is a great way to go, and if were to not work out the offer is always open.

Hmmm, why is this been taken Private?

Why should the details of a custom project and prices be discussed in the open?

Isn't business between two people something usually discussed privately between those two people?

That's why it was taken private.

Business? Sorry, I thought this was an open public forum for freely exchanging knowledge. It was posted and asked in public.

Perhaps it should be moved to the correct forum?

Yes, it is a free and open public forum which exists for exchanging knowledge. However, business is discussed here too, is it not?

If someone says they'd like to hire an SEO to work on their site, or a Web Designer to work on their site, does that mean the SEO or the Designer is required to post specifics about the project in the open simply because the project had been posted in an open forum? I think not.

I don't understand your problem with the fact that Patty and I are discussing the details of her custom project, privately.

Dave, look up. That's where this thread is -- Professional Help forum.

It began in the Database forum and in order for the threads to "update" Doug has to run the update threads function in the admin panel.

Until then, it just looks like it's still living in the db forum and being posted to there.

Oops, I didn't see that it was in the pro area :p Sorry all. I was just throwing my .02 cents in without looking around!

Yeah, we have a "Professional Help" forum in the DB forum too. It's where projects are posted for professional help for web design, programming, seo, and so forth.

Patty's thread is in the correct forum and has been all along.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to thank WebSavvy:bigwave:for the great work she did on my contact form. If you all go take a look I'm sure you'll be impressed. I'm thrilled with it: Looks nice and foils the spammers. :D It even matches my design colors.:scattered

But the fact that I've now got a superb new contact form isn't even the main reason I'm posting. Working with Deb has been extremely pleasant and rewarding. She's a lovely person and gave so much more than I expected. She worked until the job was done even though there were some hitches resulting from my server and my website setup. She kept going where most programmers would have been downing tools and complaining. If you need someone to do a superb job, Deb's your girl. I truly can't recommend her highly enough.
