what are some exercises that can get you abs

Truth About 6 Pack Abs

From "exercise for abs" linking to topix.net/forum/business/sporting-goods/TQ76KNTHON4M7JO2K

I guess 10,000 ODP links (http://search.dmoz.org/cgi-bin/search?search=topix) aren't enough.

That's truly pathetic.

Tell me again where the logic in this is? An "excellent little niche directory" can contain only 12 links on a very hard to find topic and have those sites mined from its pages and listed in ODP whilst the directory those listings were mined from wouldn't get an ODP listing; YET topix.net merits 10,000 ODP listings?

Someone please pinch me! This can't be REAL!

topix.net is a RSS feed content site laden with AdSense. It has practically zero original content and likely wouldn't be listed (IMO) if Skrenta didn't own it.

I suppose it's possible that topix.net isn't responsible for the blog comment spam. It's possible the only post on the referenced page (with a link to some non-relevant page) is using topix.net as a middleman to get attention, but I think it's more likely that topix.net just doesn't mind spamming to get more eyeballs on all those ads they display.

Why would the ODP and AOL allow this?

That is truly pathetic. The scum people allow on the internet is pathetic. Can you imagine what the internet will look like in 5 years? It's scary.

Because they are stuck in 1998 and refuse to revist their flawed model.

And DMOZ wonders why they are spammed

Maybe they looked at your avatar and thought you looked a bit "weedy" and needed some building up :D

I can tell you that there are a good number of ODP editors who were opposed to the Topix listings to the point of foaming at the mouth, and who delete 99% of them on sight.

I have heard, of course, that this is done only after fully evaluating the listing with the edting guidelines in mind and only deleting the listing if, after multiple visits, it is determined that there is insufficient unique content that related to the category or subcategory where the site is listed, and they fully document their finding in the editor notes so that no one can suggest that they are guilty of inappropriate editing actions.

And, if you think of it, the actions by individual editors must ber working becuase there are a helck of a lot fewer listings today than there were when the AOL Staff made the decision to auto-add the listings to virtually every category.

Sounds like even the DMOZ editors have to fight the model they work within.
