A webmaster asked to remove his listing from JoeAnt.com because
Joeant listing has hurt my ranking in google.
The fun thing is also that his site is one of the googlepages.com.
I wonder where he got the idea that JoeAnt hurts rankings in Google?
Maybe he's thinking all sites listed in directories are punished?

I get requests like that all the time because my directory outranks people for their own name or their business name so they think I'm hurting their rankings.
I have to explain to them that if people knew your business name in the first place they would know to look you up directly and you wouldn't need my directory to find your site. However, other than your existing customers nobody knows who you are, so I'll remove your site and when visitors are looking for vendors in your city they'll just find your competitors instead.
Most of them change their mind about then.

HaHa, That's funny, probably he was a newbie webmaster. I have experienced such kind of request from a newbie bidder while bidding for a SEO project.
