Will I ever get in?

Hi, Can you help?

I have been getting spidered by inktomi for 3 or 4 months now but am not in the database yet. Will my site ever get listed with them for free or should I just pay now rather than wait?

Are you sure you are not in the database ? You could be in there just well down the ranks. Try a search at www.hotbot.co.uk for a phrase that is unique to your site as one way of checking.

If you aren't in, then really it is up to you to decide whether it is worth paying the fee to be included. If you think you will get the traffic to make it worthwhile, then go ahead and do it.

I'm definitely not in the database. I will probably give it another month before I pay, but is it realistic to think that I will get in for free or not? If not I may as well pay now.

You will get in for free eventually, yes. Try to get a few more links from sites you know rank highly in Inktomi and are related to your theme and that should ensure you get in.

You should also get into DMOZ, Looksmart, and/or Yahoo. Just one of them gets you into Ink in 2-3 months on the average.
