I just wanted to post publicly and thank Doug for providing us with a forum which is both fun and knowledgeable. His relaxed laid back style is a much welcome relief and no doubt will be a crucial key for the forums success!~ Also, I wish to personally thank Doug for the time and dedication he spends with each and every new member...a very positive reflection of the warm, open, friendly environment within this forum.

Three cheers for Doug ->

Yup. Without a doubt, and especially when compared to "some other" similar forums, the relaxed, open and extremely friendly style will be a much welcome relief to many I think. Long may it go on and all that...

Nice one.

Thanks all.

But the real value of any forum are the members. Other places take the notion that members are somehow idiots and need to be scolded. I do not. Forums need to grow and members need to learn. There is a wealth of info out there that one guy/gal could not possibly find by themself.

But the forum as a whole CAN find the resources.

We all know what is a good post, what is not, what is an ad, what is not, what is a helpful post, what is not, what is post to a good resource that helps the thread, what is simply a blatant attempt to advertise.

We do not need to be re-schooled on the facts. If a link is good and helps the thread, then POST it.

AGAIN,

If my house is in good order, with all funiture dusted and clean, with dishes done, with things picked up, I have no problem with company coming over to have fun. I have NO problem with company coming over and then leaving to go to a neighbors house for awhile. I know that since my house is up to snuff, they will be back again and again, no matter where the neighbor lives.

Can I add my congrats to Doug for sponsering this forum and making it such a fun and informative place to be?

I have posted in several SEO forums and find this one tobe the best - period.

I look forward to what I am sure will be a great forum which will attract quality members.

The only problem is now that this (and the local loo) is the only place you can read the Spamcatcher Diaries we may have to charge an admission fee to keep out underfunded federal agents trying to find out what we are really up to.

I'd just like to add my 2 cents. I have also found 'that other forum' everyone keeps mentioning to be distinctly unpleasant at times. I wonder why the mods there do it. There is a kind of arrogance that I would not tolerate from my boss (if I had one) let alone at a community forum.

"Other places take the notion that members are somehow idiots and need to be scolded. " - that pretty much sums it up, Doug.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to think this way. I was beginning to feel that I was just being hypersensitive. So, thanks for the invite over here, Doug - I Help You Services Forum: the SEO forum for adults.

I know that since my house is up to snuff, they will be back again and again, no matter where the neighbor lives.

Wow, I single guy living by himself who keeps his house up to snuff? Can I hire you out to do the same to mine? Unfortunately, I can't have company because I live in a pigsty. Yes, it is true. It's not quite as bad as when my kids were little and toys were strewn throughout the house. But it's true that you can find inches of dust in many places. :(

The only problem is now that this (and the local loo) is the only place you can read the Spamcatcher Diaries we may have to charge an admission fee to keep out underfunded federal agents trying to find out what we are really up to.

Don't laugh. Once people do find out about the Spamcatcher Diaries (and they will), this place will be truly hopping. I for one plan to virally promote them where ever I go. A little sneeze here, a small cough there. Then once they're here and hooked, we just reel 'em in with our wit and sensitive natures. They won't know what hit 'em!

Wonder where MazY is? The SpamCatcher Diaries are great! Shot him off an email to make sure he is okay and to stop in to say hi when he gets a chance.

We all miss him!

I wouldn't worry about it too much, Dougie! There are people in the world who don't live at their computers like you and I do!

Actually, I try and stay off on the weekends when I can, only because it's irritating to my husband. He happens to have a business meeting this morning, so I *get* to work! Which is actually a good thing because I'm still not prepared for my SF presentation! Just printed up a bunch of stuff and am making some notes and stuff, so I feel a little better about it. Next step is to outline the major points, and then to put it all together into powerpoint. Funny how I can only do this stuff when I'm under the gun! Hopefully in a few days you will hear from a totally stress-free webwhiz because I'm ready. Yet, somehow I doubt it. As the week progresses you will find me under more and more stress. In fact, probably up until I actually finish my presentation IN SF will I ever be totally stress-free!

Ok, back to work. Or maybe some lunch. Or maybe I should get dressed...it is after noon. Too many choices....arghhhhhhhhhh

AMEN TO THAT
I have frequented tech message boards for years and would like to think I was regarded as helpfull and friendly,as most of the other regulars are. When I got into design for fun, I had a pretty rude awakening when I needed some help. Other boards were unfriendly, self rightous and downright rude.
This board is anything but
A BIG thank you to Doug and everyone who have, and continue to, help and NOT look down upon.........

<Bows> Many thanks for all the kind words and stuff about the SpamCatcher Diaries. Rest assured that they will be resumed either tomorrow or the day after, depending on how long I am with the client...

Anyway, I couldn't possibly leave them at such a nail-biting position.

By the way, Doug.. I never open that e-mail account. I use it for my "spam all you like, I never open it anyway" email address.

I'll PM you my business one.

hey jimi, the board is not set up for html in the posts. That is why your sig will not work.

Avatar looks great!
