Hi All
This is the 3rd website I've submitted to Inktomi. The other
two were generic affiliate pages.
Would someone please look at the page and tell me what
is right and what is wrong
http://www.RecruitNot.com
It is still under construction.
My other two sites are spidered but getting very few hits.

For one, I don't think you need to be worried about your website from a search engine optimization standpoint.
You need to work on getting that page a little more eye-friendly, especially changing that background would be nice. Also, the layout of the text is BLAH. You certainly aren't catching my attention.
Second, what are you offering?
..."Is an independent company that builds and manages downlines for Professionals and Beginners in the network marketing industry."
That phrase *should* be the most optimized phrase on your website, yet every word in there is generic and bland.
Next, where's your content?? If you had some articles up on whatever business you are marketing, or SOMETHING, it would be a lot more search engine friendly.
All the "under contructions" don't help much either.
I'm still confused on exactly what you do? (maybe that's the point?)
At the very least, completely rewrite the entire front page to make it less wordy and more to the point.
Good luck-

Hi
I don't want to give them to much info on the front page.
The idea is to get them to open the site and read the whole
thing. This launches a series of autoresponder messages.
I'm kinda Patriotic.
My upline has asked to use that text in there next Multilinks
campaign so it can't be that bad.
Thanks

Yes, but affiliate marketing things like what you are into(MLM) know nothing about the search engines as evidenced by the content they give you.

Those statements are the exact opposite of what a good site should be doing. No one likes autoresponders like that and if you do not have good info on the front page, no one wishes to click further and won't be able to click out of the site fast enough.
I know I am direct, but only tell it as I see it.

Hello
This site does very well at FindWhat and 7Search.
My Overture submission will be complete tommorrow.
As long as I keep leads at around $1 each I'm doing fine.
Very few people remove themselves from the Followups
You have heard of followup correct. That's where 95%
of sales are made.
I think your expertise is more technical and less marketing
oriented. I'll be sure to tell Rick Saumier at Liberty your opinion
of his Marketing Skills. Their new SE Optimzied sites are do out
next month.
Thank you for your time.

Yes. Those sites you named are PPC search engines. You asked us about Inktomi. That is different, as a site has to be optimized for it just like for Google. All we are doing is trying to answer your original question the correct way. It's a known fact that MLM sites do not do well in the engines and I am just trying to show you why. That's all. :)

Hi Jaer :hi: and welcome to the forums.
Actually Doug's expertise is very marketing savvy, as can be evidenced by the high search engine rankings he achieves for his clients and the more obvious popularity of these very forums.
Please don't take offence at any comments in here, we are only trying to be honest and offer constructive criticism. As long as the owners are willing to pay, any web site can do well in the PPC search engines such as Overture, FindWhat and 7 Search. What is more difficult is achieving high rankings from the "free" search engines and directories and supporting databases such as Inktomi.
In order to do well on those, you need a combination of search engine friendly web design (keyword-filled body text on each page, text links, targeted search terms, META tags etc) and loads of quality content. If your site is still under construction, you'd be better off finishing the content before submitting to any search engines, PPC included. Good luck with it

The message on the front page looks just like some spam that I've seen in my inbox. I would delete the spam as quickly as I would close the page.
Nothing seems original here (on the page).
I do like the background though.
