PR has nothing to do with the title of the page. PR is about links. The PR you see in the TB is not the true PR of a page. You will never know the true PR.
Frankly you are to worried about PR.

No, not at all.
Title tag has nothing to do with the PR of your page.

What is your aim?
You are changing Title for Increasing/Decreasing PR, no effect will take place.
If you are changing PR to get Better SERP rankings than may be your current rankings goes down also.
But you will be benefited in 2 months of time period, with your new Title tag.

James,
We can't change the PR. :( Only Google can. :)
I think you mean to say this:

I am not sure. :(
Because Title is not the only factor. It is one of the small factors and There are many others.

Ofcource, no one can predict or judge actual pr of his website, and i don't think so pr is distributed based on title tag,
Well,
In my career of seo till now, i found the most powerful tag is Title tag.
Proper title of your website help lot that what i believe is.
