I recently got my new site into dmoz and when it was in it achieved a no.1 position for my desired keyword. Then at the beginning of this month it went down to no.15, and now it is not even in the top 100. However it is still in the directory. Does anyone know why this could be?

don't sweat it, nobosy searches dmoz anyway...pay attention to your rankings in se's that matter. the fact your in dmoz is good, if you r happy with the title and description, leave it alone.

As for the search engines that use dmoz as for their results, Netscape, AOL, etc. Do they use a different ranking algorithm and use on page factors to also rank your site?

Hi 3rd eye:
The important SE that uses DMOZ is Google who base their directory results on Yahoo and DMOZ, and seem to regard DMOZ listings highly. The search results in Google directory can be different that DMOZ results - check your keywords there.
AOL is now serving Inktomi results for its web page search.
