Hi,

Just wanted to drop a line about a project I am currently involved with, called DonateMate, which attempts to transform a website's marketing budget into charitable donations, and at the same time growing their user base.

DonateMate offers its affiliates the opportunity to support their favorite charities, while offering their clients a revolutionary marketing product. that combines word of mouth marketing with cause-related marketing.

Studies have shown that 86% of consumers will switch from one brand to another brand if the other brand is associated with a charitable cause. In addition, consumers give the highest relative purchase influence score to recommendations from family and friends. The combination between these two factors is what makes DonateMate so unique.

Users use the DonateMate widget to recommend sites to friends, and in doing so, earn credits to donate money to their favorite charities.

Participating websites receive free statistics about how their content is shared by their users - what the most popular links being recommended
are, and which charities receive the donations.

Thanks!

Sharon

As well, I have delinked your link drops until it can be proven that you are an actual charitable organization.

I hope you understand. The Internet is unfortunately rife with those that are less than ethical. I hope you can show us otherwise.

Blue, I absolutely understand the concerns you are raising here. There are too many scams out there which attempt to play on the fundraising card.

DonateMate is not a charity organization, but a company whose intent is to transfer money from businesses marketing budgets to charity donations, and certainly not to persuade companies to reallocate their philanthropic funds.

The idea is to achieve this by offering website owners marketing advantages (based on Word of Mouth and Cause Related marketing) that will justify using DonateMate rather than the standard eMarketing tools (Adwords, Banners etc.).

As for the reference you asked for - I'm working on finding the original marketing materials with this research. Will post it here as soon as I locate that document! :circle:
