Deb move this to a more appropriate forum if needed.
If adding accessibility links to a site what would be the most important?
I think skipping to content would be the most important. If that's correct what would be 3 or 4 others?

Skip to Content (is one, as you said).
When putting up a skip link for skip to content, in the title text attribute of the link, use "Skip to Main Content". By using "Main" it forces Content to be read as a noun Vs a verb.
Example:
Skip to Content would be read by a screen reader as a verb:
e.g., The kitten was content to sleep by its Mother.
By using "Main", content is read properly by screen readers.
Other skip links would include:
If you have an Accessibility Statement, a good place to set the link would be up at the top with the skip links.

Deb in your mind what is the differnece between:
To me that would mean the same thing.
BobBobby. Which is it? Bob or Bobby? Personally I still think you are Dave Hawley in disguise, but that is is just MO. Which do you prefer to be called? Bob or Bobby?
Anyway thanks for the link. I did a lot of reading a few years ago on accessibility. The info on that site looks like it will be helpful.
In the new design of Condells I want to plug in as many accessibility features as I can right from the start.
I'll have some more questions over the next week or so I'm sure.

To me that would mean the same thing.
Menu and Navigation are different. Menu is a set of side links that lead to other sections of the website.
Navigation is a trail of links from the homepage to the page where you currently are.
Skip to Menu -- allows the user to bypass everything else and go straight to the menu.
Skip to Navigation -- allows the user to bypass everything else and go straight to the navigation bar.
Using a Skip to Navigation is optional.
Many "sighted" people in web accessibility always use:
Skip Menu
Skip Content
I have never liked that because it gives you no idea what you're skipping to. I have always used "Skip to ______" (whatever) so it informs the user what it is they're skipping to.
Apparently, this is something many *sighted* accessibility people just figured out that that's how the blind prefer it (the way I use it).
The problem with it is, not many people in web accessibility actually know anyone who's blind so they really have no way to verify if something is working or not. That does not include the Web Accessibility Working Group. They do consult blind people, to an extent.

Connie, aren't most users posting under a username? Why are some of you so obsessed with "Dave Hawley"? Does it really matter who I am?
Which do you prefer to be called? Bob or Bobby?Either is fine by me. "Bob" is quicker to type ;)

My user name is my name. Seems to me made up user names is a thing of the past.
I suppose if you didn't sound like Dave Hawley people wouldn't be obsessed about that. Tone things down and I think that obsession will go away.
By the way Bob or Bobby is fine. Typing BobBobby is hard on these old fingers of mine.

Oh, Connie, get over whatever it is and move on PLEASE. Just when I thought we had settled down, you drag up YET another pointless Witch hunt. I'm just trying to help others, YOU in this case.

If there's some other discussion that any of you are feeling compelled to lean toward -- take it to private message and do not derail this thread.
The topic of this thread is about "Skip Links", so let's keep it on topic. Leave the other rhetoric at the curb. Thanks!
