I can see no one has posted here in a year...

that's ok, I've not done PPC in more than 4 years.

in 2005 the way to get Yahoo sponsored links or PPC was to go with overture
it that still the case? or have I missed a lot

NOTE: I know that I don't know some stuff... which is why I'm here
I DO want my sig file but I do not need extra work so bad as to link drop.
I'm here cause I dont know stuff that I know I need to know

I'm sorry but I'm not really into PPC and know very little about Yahoo's PPC side. However, other members here that have experience in that area will give you some advice.

I just wanted to say welcome to IHY :)

Welcome to IHY, :hi:

I quit using Overture a long time ago. Yahoo does not call it Overture anymore.
I'm not sure what the new name is.

Like with any PPC it really depends on the target market, and how well your site can sell after you get the traffic. If you can convert enough of your visitors then any PPC is worthwhile.

Bottom line, you have to experiment.

Yahoo changed the name a long time ago (years), but its essentially Overture rebranded for Yahoo.

It is now called Yahoo Search Marketing (YSM). I haven't used it for 2 years, mainly as Google is number one by a mile and Yahoo has some major click fraud issues. They give you some money back for dodgy clicks but this is a pain to sort out.

What the previous poster said. I'm not totally sure about the click fraud issues, but they do charge for clicks that they don't deliver until over a month following. I've seen this first-hand and can clarify the behavior.

Avoid YSM at all costs (Yahoo! in general would be a good thing to avoid too, but that's another story.)

Can u please clarify this more? I also used YSM in the past.but they used to deduct daily $5 from my account irrespective of my clicking history. Even the worst case is i did not know that they were deducting this amount for daily until my credit card company called me up and told the that my credit card has been charged daily for $5.....

Anyways, i closed my YSM account and they also refunded my money that they have charged..but i guess YSM is somewhat tricky than google...
