As you know, Position Tech resells Inktomi paid inclusion service to webmasters. Recently, it provides referral stats for each subscribed site listing. Anyone see this?

Yes. I heard about that. The stats are from just the Inktomi based search engines.... right? JH would know about this also.

Yes this just started last week or so I believe and it really looks promising. I've really been busy with the technical aspect of things and have not had time to put me SEO hat on and perform any in-depth analysis.
However I did take a quick peek a few days ago and made a couple quick observations. Remember these were quick and the program is new so this very well may change. <for archive readers especially>
Those that use Positiontech's (http://www.positiontech.com) Inktomi Inclusion (http://www.positiontech.com/inktomi/) program will now notice when they log-in (https://secure.positiontech.com/login.cfm) that the page listings now include a column Clks. To the best of my knowledge these clicks are only partial recordings (as of this post) as the system is still in beta form. Currently the stats reflect information going back to 7/12 so I appears to have been in place just over three weeks now.
The page listing reflects total clicks for the period to date, and upon clicking a detailed listing by day is displayed providing: daily referrals, daily search terms, search query, referrals for query, and average position. Upon a quick check it appears these stats (according to ranking matches) maybe coming from either/both AOL and MSN.
It all looks very promising, and once refined may prove to be an invaluable tool in optimizing for Inktomi.

hey Junior, .. from what you have had the chance to see so far, what extra benefits are the stats that you cannot maybe get from your log files?

LOL!~ Well for us I've written our own detailed custom logs which record everything into our SQL Server database...so we can do just about any analysis with our own data.
One benefit which our extensive logs do not include, is the average page rank. This can be helpful in identifying additional keyword phrases which are sending referrals, but my have a lower rank. Given this information one could possibly tweak the page and attempt to boost that position.
It is very insightful to see the various keyword combinations for each page, some obvious some not so obvious. It can lead to additional avenues which savvy webmasters and new program participants can take advantage of when optimizing and tweaking their pages for Inktomi.
