There have been many questions about the GoTo keyword tool.

This will check number of times that a keyword phrase is searched on GoTo. It also may count the numbers searched on it's partner sites. This number can only be a guestimate. The partners do not reveal that type of information to anyone.

What GoTo might do is factor in the number of clicks a term gets at partner sites but cannot believe that the GoTo tool is very revealing.

www.wordtracker.com is the best tool for this job. They have a free trial thing that can give you lots of information. There is no comparison between the two.

Besides, the GoTo tool is very scewed as the people using it are mostly webmasters checking up on their very own keyword phrases,..... not actual searches from the public. Sure, the public uses them, but this is not reliable.

Does anyone know which search engines, if any, that the GoTo tool actually covers? Need more info if you have it.

I admit I do not use this tool at all, except I tried it awhile ago. Wordtracker does have the GoTo figures in it as well.

Nothing concrete, but I had read that the tool only covers Goto keywords and maybe the partners since most links tend to carry the Goto redirect which should allow capturing the information by Goto. The tool can be useful for finding keyword combinations, however I wonder what effect the pay-to-surfs may have...as these may not reflect real searches.
