Google is still shuffling its index.

This URL jumps from some 14 to Top 10.

Any explanations for this?

My new theory tells me that Google goes crazy on DMOZ. The URL mentioned above is nowhere before DMOZ listed it. After the listing, I see its ranking on Google jumped to Top 10 within a month for a competitive keyword.

Maybe Google is now in the process of "cleaning out" the garbage in the index and that is why you sneaked up there?

Well, the top 15 URLs for 'USB' are pretty well optimized, IMO.

I don't think some of them are garbage.

But I do notice that DMOZ listing helps A LOT!!!!!!

To all who want to get high Google ranking, a DMOZ is a must. The effect is pretty much immediate. I think it has to do with the fact that Google looks up to DMOZ.

Also, this URL has so many USB in different paragraphs that Google loves. I guess.

There are so many: I guess, I think, IMO. Because every move by Google is a SURPRISE to me. And frankly, I hate surprises when it comes to business.

Oh, I take it you just got into DMOZ? That is great news. The biggest problem with that directory is you never know when the site will get listed after you submit to them
