How long after Editor's visit

An editor has recently visited one of my sites ( after a nice email from me) .

How long does it take from that visit for the listing to appear if accepted?

Is it immediate or does it have to wait until that part of the directory is updated.

wow. You are lucky that one did visit! You should be listed fairly quickly then if all is okay.

I think these freelance editors don't have an agenda. They add listings once in a while.

I would watch to see when the site appears in DMOZ, which if may already be. It could take some time before they update their public database. This is the first step. Then each engine/directory which utilizes DMOZ will eventually also get the new listing, but each will have their own schedule to do so.

The site was visited by an editor on 30th July but is not in the Dmoz directory as at now (3rd Aug 20.08)

This was why I was asking the original question.

It will be interesting to see if and when it appears.

They seem to have a mind of their own with no clear-cut rules spelled out on when they review a site or when they list them. In my opinion, this is their major fault.

If an editor lists a site they are visible almost immediately in the category, the search function is another entity of it's own and may not be updates for quite some time.

Is the site you wanted listed in your profile?

Thanks for that newriver! So it is possible to be in the category for awhile and still not be able to search on your Url. Okay. kewl.
