ODP not working

When searching for anything at http://dmoz.org/ I get the message "The Open Directory search is temporarily unavailable. Please try back later."

This has been happening for almost two weeks.

Anybody know why?

That's very strange - maybe it's a caching problem your end? Make sure you dump your temporary Internet files and refresh the page. I noticed ODP was down recently, but only for a few minutes. Today I had trouble getting ODP results while running a ranking report, but it seems to be fine now and the site's definitely live. Anyone else had probs?

Nope, not a local cache problem. Still not working.

I am an editor. My cat comes up fine and works normally.

Just can't search.

I believe I have seen some references in the OPD public forum to the fact that the ODP search is in development.

Yes, that's true. I think that another reason is that ODP is a directory, not a search engine, and is not designed for high volume search. Most users browse the directory itself, search is mostly used by editors.
