If I write a paragraph about 350 words on one page filled with 'usb ports', will search engines able to find my page if people do a search on 'usb port' (singular).

You need to cover off both bases, google for sure understands the plural definition. On another point I just looked at your site, looks great, but I got lots of runtime errors and a 500 server error when trying to access the forums

Ian, like Highman said, you'll want to use both forms of the phrase. In a recent rank write, I did some tests on the engines, and it appeared that they did not automatically find plurals/singulars for the most part. You can see the issue at:

Yes. This is true.
You will find that MSN-LS listings and AltaVista seem to be the only ones now that will recognize singular or plural.

I agree with all of you.
I did a search on both 'usb port' and 'usb ports'
Both searches turn out in different results.

In fact, the listings are SO different.
I will take your advice to put both forms in my content.
