AOL Putting More Emphasis on Inktomi

In the last few days AOL has been showing both ODP listings and sites from the Inktomi database on the first page of results.

Before, AOL showed only ODP and no INk until all listings from ODP was exhausted, then they would show listings from Inktomi. This is a huge change!

Referrals from AOL have went up lots the last couple of days.

I also believe that there has been a big algo change on AOL with both their ODP database and INk's database.

This is very interesting indeed and when taken to its logical conclusion says that if you list with Looksmart you will eventually get search listings on AOL (LS-> MSN-> AOL) This is getting to be fun and is a great validation of your "list with the directories" idea.

Our Inktomi traffic from AOL has greatly increased in the past two weeks...very nice!~ :cool:

This would not be good for DMOZ if AOL continued to show results in this way. AOL is their biggest partner as far as the showing of search results.

Sure, Google takes into account a DMOZ listing, but does not rank you in the top ten just because you have a listing.

I was just going to post a similar thread regarding AOL and its search results cause I've been noticing my Looksmart listings in AOL as well as ODP and Inktomi....but you beat me to it over the weekend....
