penalized - how long

Here is what happened, we made a site and against my advise they made another site and redirected site 1 to site 2 and Inktomi kicked us out about 6 weeks ago. My question is how long will Ink penalize our site, is it dead in the water or will Ink re index it or should I just make another site.

Yep. you are right, that's exactly why and you don't have an easy way back in. All you can do is get the other site OFFLINE completely and try and email Inktomi for mercy.

You need to get it deleted anyway before Google finds out as well.

Thanks Doug for your advise, what about the fact that we have taken the redirects off aver a month ago. Will they not come back to re crawl our site? and google never indexed our site anyway.

I don't think they will if you paid and they delisted you. You have to email them and beg for mercy. :)

Thanks again Doug. I never paid them they crawled our site for free. I did send them an email and begged for mercy. On the redirects side we were not trying to trick anyone we just sent them from our old site to the new and improved site.

Back up a bit, guys. We haven't got enough information to definitively say this was the reason Ink kicked you out. How was the old site redirecting to the new one ?

If you were using domain pointers for example, then it is likely that there may be another reason.

I don't know but he said they made 'another' site, etc, so that's what I went on. I agree though, much more info is needed.
