Found this looking for my site in Northern Lights.
Looks like we have CNET, CNET and CNET

Sheesh!!

Not sure what you're trying to imply here, Jimi.

Well mostly that the only sites to be found,in that catogory, are all CNET owned. Thats kinda spam-ish isnt it? Listing nothing but one companies sites catagory wide.

Well actually jimi, that is okay. The pages are all different ones. That is very good for cnet. The more pages ranked, they better they are.

It actually looks bad for NorthernLight to show pages in a row from one web site. That is the engines problem but is not the fault of Cnet.

The engines would like to show a variety of different pages relevant to a particular search.

In this search, NorthernLight is failing to do this. Bad for them. Good for Cnet and whoever optimized for them.

No No
I didnt blame CNET and I agree that IS very good for them. I just thought it was kinda poor to have like 10 search result pages in a row all from the same company. Indeed a NL problem

Yep. You are very right! All search engines would cringe at those kinds of results.

All webmasters and SEO's would say "YEAH" at those results. :) ... Except, of course, if you are in competition for the same keyword phrase. :(

(as Jill steps out from the crowd to tell us that Cnet is her account)

Good one, Doug! I wish!

You must all forget that this is how all the engines used to show results. It's only been recently that they started grouping sites together instead of letting them dominate the page like in NL. I'll bet NL has an advanced method where you can see just one result per site. Although I couldn't find it just now. I would think they'd have to, it's such a common feature on all engines these days.

Good point Jill, I suppose we've all been spoiled by the engines who filter and group like listings together.
