Submit Sites are NOT SEO

Someone should tell MSN that submission companies are not search engine optimization companies, and that they should not all be ranking in the top 20+ at MSN search for that search phrase.

How is submitting a site to 50 zillion "search engines" -- search engine optimization?

Probably not MSNs fault since the pages have to be optimized for that phrase to be ranked for it. Blame the spammy submission companies who are optimizing their pages for SEO terms, and whose only real "worth" is providing fodder for millions of spam mails daily.

Those pages they have at the top for that phrase are definitely hand-picked to be there.

They probably picked them years ago and haven't revisited.

Despite MSN's position in the market, they seem to have very little knowledge about the web. Their homepage is a car wreck from a useability standpoint (shot out to Jakob Nielson.) And they are still calling L$ listings search results.
