Latest Nielsen//Net Ratings

Recently Launched Search Engine Fastest Growing Site on the
Web During April 2002

EMERYVILLE, Calif., May 28, 2002 -- Teoma.com (pronounced tee-O-ma) experienced the greatest increase in traffic on the Web for April 2002, according to Nielsen//NetRatings, the global standard in Internet audience measurement and analysis. Teoma.com, which was taken out of beta on April 2, 2002, saw a 2100 percent increase in traffic from approximately 25,000 unique users a month to nearly one million unique users in April. Teoma(SM) is a search engine that goes beyond traditional search techniques to apply a new measure of relevance to deliver authoritative results to consumers. Teoma's authoritative
methodology associates a level of expertise or knowledge with a search result to improve relevancy. Started by a team of scientists from Rutgers University, Teoma was acquired by Ask Jeeves(R), Inc. (Nasdaq: ASKJ) in September 2001.

"Teoma's unique approach to navigating the Web provides searchers with highly relevant results," said Steve Berkowitz, president of Ask Jeeves Web Properties. "The positive reaction of the public to the launch of Teoma.com is evidence of consumers' desire for alternate search choices and Teoma is meeting this need."

I have noticed many more referrals coming from Ask Jeeves/Teoma. The past couple of months have shown AJT in my top 5 referrers on a couple of sites. Surprising since they weren't even in my SE referrals a year ago.
