What is the easiest/best way to see if a url is in the directory? What is the easiest way to see which category it is in?

You can type in the complete url for searching. When JA finds a site, you can click on the 'Rel' button, this will take you to the subtopic where the site is listed.

Why do you consider this a relevant directory? Does it get results?

Each directory was started from scrath. So did we. We have now almost 25.000 sites listed and each day a lot of webmasters and several editors add sites to it. I think we will become more relevant when Joeant is spiderable (will be soon), so JA will become another easy way to get listed in the major SE's.

I look at it as a up and coming directory and besides, a link in it could not possibly hurt you and could only help you. Traffic from it means nothing to me but the link factor sure does.
