Hi Opt:

Well...... you know how screwed up the MSN results are these days what with the L$ results dropping in and out monthly according to who pays what and when.

As a review:

The first results are the 3 top sites from Overture - IF the cost per click is more than $0.15 and if there is more traffic from OV for that KW than from LS. Money talks!!

Otherwise up to the next ten results are from L$ if they have not exceeded their click budget. This can be confusing - for one of my search terms at some times of the month my site is the only one listed from LS and at other times in the month there are up to ten sites listed from LS.

Then come the Inktomi web page results, but be careful here as L$ are now allowing all comers to spider their index and so your apparent free Inktomi listing may in fact be a PPC L$ listing. towards the end of the L$ billing cycle my L$ directory listing is the only one listed for a particular search term, and immediately below that is an identical LS lisiting in the Web pages section.

Relevant results????? what are those??? Money talks and bulls**t walks.

MSN also gets results from DirectHit-Teoma I think no?

They do not incorporate Direct Hit/Teoma results into their search results....for some searches (I do not see this on ALL searches), there is a link under 'Web Directory Sites' for 'Top 10 Most Popular Sites for 'keyword'' These 'top 10 results' are direct hit/teoma....

DirectHit scores do affect the Inktomi results on MSN as well. Nobody uses "pure Inktomi" results.
