DMOZ listings on Google.

I notice that many DMOZ cloned sites have not been updated for a looooong time.

My listing on USB DMOZ category is updated on DMOZ.org for 3 weeks now. Still I don't see any signs of update on Google-branded DMOZ site.

I would like to know when DMOZ will do the update, and if the all DMOZ cloned sites are being updated, will my Google ranking skyrocket because of the links on hundreds of DMOZ sites out there?

Lately, Google has been updating the DMOZ right before they do the regular Google index. You are on track to be updated in about 1 week or so.

I think the answer is no, though. While Open Directory is like Google's 'truth verifier', it is really only the link from Dmoz that carries much weight. I am willing to proven wrong on this, but that's been my experience. However when some of these Dmoz clones do update, you should see an increase in traffic anyway. Lots of South American search engines and those in the Eastern Bloc rely very heavily on Dmoz for their results and they need USB mouses and scanners just as much as the rest of us.
