Hello
I started a website in May and the Alexa traffic results are 115 071. I am new to website marketing and I wish they explained their results better. Can anybody inform me if this is good or how they rate the traffic system. Also are there any other ranking systems that you prefer.
Thank you

Hi ncpapi welcome to the forums.

It's a bit hard to give you an explanation without further info.

Where did you get the Alexa traffic results from?

Do you have an ISP to host your site? Most come with some sort of log file analysis program.

Hello
Thank you for the welcome and reply. I downloaded the free Alexa toolbar. My hit results are 30 000 for July and 19 900 so far for Aug. Just in case your not familliar with Alexa, it gives a traffic ranking for any website you visit (#1 is the best) I don't think I am doing to bad because I have done some searching and found similiar sites up in the 3 - 400 000 range and have been there for two to three years. I would love to tell you what it is but I won't break the rules.

Hey ncp, that is pretty darn good actually. Considering ALL the sites out there and which Alexa has in their database, being in the 100,000 group is quite high up there. :)

Well, it's going to be the good members like you who get these forums figure waaaaay down there as well. These forums are currently at around the 8000 mark in Alexa and going down all the time, so keep it up. :) Six months ago they were at the 100,000 mark so the downward trend is really fast.

Have you had a look at any of your other log files?

No I haven't had a chance to view all my log files(been to busy) but my site is a ppc. If I get an ok from ihelpyou I will send you a link to a write up. I was interviewed by a ppc review site.

Hi
My Alexa ratings went to 90 916. Thank you for saying that 115 000 was good and I sure hope they keep up the downward trend.
I am sure happy to see yours in the 8 000 range. You have got a loyal reader here.
