I've a .com registered with Network Solutions and want to transfer it preferably to a registrar in Australia. Can anyone give me any recommendations and/or experiences?

Hey Soph - I've transferred a domain from NS to WebCentral.com.au and it was fairly painless. But that was part of a hosting thing with them. I've also transferred some local domains to hosting with Web Wizards (http://www.webwizards.net/) and they are fantastic. I believe they are official registrars but they are located in the U.S. and I think you have to arrange your hosting through them as well.

Thanks Kal.

I've heard very good things about Web Central. We only want to "park" this domain but I'll check them out. and see if they offer this.

Web Central are good in terms of their support, their email set up and the robustness of their servers. However they are very pricey and that's the main reason I moved to Web Wizards. They probably do parking but you might find cheaper parking in the U.S. In fact, Dotster (http://web.dotster.com/) offer .com domain transfers for USD 8.95.

We use Bulk Register.
I know it is US, but it may help if you have any .com's

It's a shame that hosting, ISDN etc is still so expensive in Australia. I'd rather pay an AU company to host but like you said Kal sometimes it's too prohibitive for the client!
