I'm curious as to what everyone's experience has been lately with MSN utilizing something like "Page Rank" (without of course mentioning it under that or any other name) in their ranking algorithim.

Clearly, if a site or page has an incoming link(s) from a "noteworthy" page(s) that is in the Inktomi Best of Web database (TANGENT: which I've always taken as being those sites that are ranking well in Inktomi without having to pay PositionTech; if anyone here has a clearer definition of the BOW that would be informative for sure), then that site or page will most likely make it into the Inktomi database without having to pay.

What I'm curious about is what has been other people's practical expereinces with seeing rankings go up in relationship to an increase in incoming quality links (topical or not).

I'm pretty sure that every major search engine is assumed to consider incoming links from other quality sites as being a positive in the ranking of a particular page or site, but I would like to hear what has been the real-world expereinces of people in here. Personally I haven't noticed a big difference, but I haven't focused on MSN as much in the past as I am starting to now.
