Hi Inktomi, 6 months ago my site http://pages.travelnow.com/hotel_world.html - was removed becasue we ran redirects and ever since then my site is no where to be found in any of the Inktomi powered engines. My question is do i need to re submit or is my site banned for life? The redirects were just sending clients to the new site from the old site. Thank you for your time.

You are simply an affiliate for TravelNow. Affiliates in any compacity on any search engine will do poorly. It's a sub of the main site of travelnow so you really have little chance for any success in the search engines.

You should build your own site with your own domain name. You can still promote TravelNow but have your own content.

thank you for your help ihelpyou, i know that i am an affiliate with travel now and have never been in google but before the redirects i was doing very well in ink, i had the number 1 spot for the key terms reno hotels and had many top 10 spots in key locations but that was before January and since then msn has paid listing. I know the days of getting the top spot for free are gone but will they ever index anything at all again.

None of the engines like affiliates too much. You really should get your own site. That way you can have your own content and domain and also promote TravelNow.

Welcome to the Forum edro,

I just can’t let this statement go by without a comment.
you said, I know the days of getting the top spot for free are gone...

edro whoever told you that is just plain WRONG!

I hold several #1 positions in Ink and M$N for some very competitive keywords/phrases and I have NEVER paid a dime to any search engine to list any of my sites. It can be done, all it takes is work and persistence.

Listen to what Doug said. He knows what he is talking about.:)

What i meant by top spot - for the key terms "reno hotels" and other competative markets. I use to be nunber 1 in msn for over 6 months now the top 4 positions are paid listings, i don't care how you optimize your site you are going to be below the paid listings that is what i meant. Right now my site does very well in ask jeeves and all the engines powered by Teoma. I just want to get back in msn even if it is just a little.
