I submitted my new site to the DMOZ at about 9 p.m. this evening. A half hour later, I noticed I had a hit from the dmoz. Very odd... It appears the editor approved my site almost immediately and because of my naming convention, I ended up at the top of the specific directory listing. 10 hits in the first hour from dmoz. Whoopee! Call me lucky! I also linked the site from some of my higher page ranked google pages. I am not going to submit directly to google. I am going to play the game. Learning from the last two updates I was extra careful about my total word count and key word density. I refust to spam the page but I think I am doing it the way I should this time. Can't wait til the next two google updates. I say two because I noticed my sites start to do well after two updates. Don't know what it is but I like it.

Great stuff, you will find that you get very very few referals from dmoz itself, only webmasters use it, so being top of the pile means little, the important bit is the title and description that the dmoz editor has given you, if its good then just wait for AOL to update and crack open a beer.
And of course wait for googlebot to find you :) although I dont subscribe to that theory, I submit all our sites to google anyway.

Yes. Nice job Lazyz! ODP is very fickle. If an editor is on the ball it is great!

Hi, all! I just found this interesting (and useful) forum. Hope life is treating all of you well.
Just wanted to say that since dmoz listed my site, I'm receiving hits from the most exotic and colorful search engines - including some from India, Finland, South Africa, and God-Knows-From-Where-Else!
Thumbs up!
