yeah, but some of us have been doing exactly what he writes for many years. He's right that not many in the industry do anything and just ignore it. He's wrong to write and think that blackhat SEO is not the same kind of thing because it is. Nothing will change in this industry unless/until there is an organization with TEETH to it.

That's not even the worst part of the article, Doug. I just saw this gem.

The worst people are SEO and internet marketing firms that spam Sphinn. It’s downright insulting.

This is too damn funny to me on a few levels:

1) Danny himself has been known to support and encourage spammers, both in word and deed.

2) The worst SEOs are the ones that only spam his site? OH GOD FORBID ANYONE SHOULD SPAM THE GREAT DANNY $ULLIVAN'S SITE. Spamming Google? That's much better. How about spamming Yahoo? Oh, that's okay too. But you'd damn well better not spam Danny $ullIvan's web property.

I believe that is an extension of the Christian first commandment: "I am thy God. You shall have no other Gods before me. And your commentary must pass through the Holy filters of spam, or I WILL SMITETH THEE TO HELL!!!" (Where's Charlton Heston as Moses to read that bad boy off?)

3) The posts that usually are the most "Sphunn" are the ones that are the biggest "Sphamm".

I can't fathom just how egomaniacal and self-serving this guy is, and how almost no one can see it. And let's face it...$ullIvan is a contemporary Koresh.

Oh, I agree.

The thing with him is that will write some good things, but then ruin what he just wrote with the "blackhat stuff is okay" thing. He just can't help but straddle that fence. He won't make a commitment to truly clean up the industry in every way. He just won't do it and never will do it unless an org is finally formed to where he won't have that choice anymore.
