Hi,

This forum is great. After using Andrew's report on GAWS, I have managed to get CTR of 2.5 to 4.4 for most of my campaigns. I would like to know if this is considered to be a good one or are there people who get bigger averages.

I would also like others to contribute their tips and tricks they have found useful in managing their GAWS Campaigns.

Regards,

I don't do enough of them to know, but that sounds like very high CTRs if you ask me!:D

I'd consider 6% to be the top of CTR... 4.4% isn't that bad at all! But i'm sure you can still increase it by 1% ;)

Hi kykex,

That's higher than I see on my main Adwords client although the majority of their traffic (sadly) comes from generic single word key phrases...

Do you get CTR's like that for single keyword's or more specific multi keyword phrases?

I was talking about a general campaign, that contains a group of similar keywords. For some campaign, yeah I reached a 6% CTR, but indeed most of them are just doing normal around 4%... And of course I have a couple of campaigns with bad CTR, like 1 or 2 % :(

Well I would really like to know what was the traffic meter in that 6% CTR Campaign. Was it for a popular keyword and for how long did it stay that way.

"Well I would really like to know what was the traffic meter in that 6% CTR Campaign. Was it for a popular keyword and for how long did it stay that way."

I think it's pretty tough to generalize a good CTR since so many variables can effect it.

Some variables include:

1. Number of competing Adwords for the term.
2. Quality of true search results on the page.
3. Quality of the Adword itself (how well it matches the content on the page).

Here's a quick tip. If you're starting a Google Adwords campaign using the terms currently in your Overture account, make sure to repluralize your terms since a large percentage of searches are done in plurals.

Example:
If your Overture term is "digital camera" bid on that plus "digital cameras"
