Looksmart is history.
I made about 4 posts on that board along time ago. Don't think it was a big deal, do you?

Yes, LS will be history soon. I have not used them and don't know too many that do.

It would appear a few engines are going to be history soon, with the way the U.S. markets are going.
I had a bit of a read threw some threads, it seems some are still using Looksmart.
What engines are you recommending to others, that are looking for MSN exposure (given that Overture only get the top three) if there are no comparable bids to looksmarts ?
INKT are a bit of a risky proposition at the moment.

Inktomi is the best way. What do you mean by risky? I have Never paid for a single page in Inktomi. I have zero risk. No need to pay when pages get in for free.

Risky.......as in going out the back door.
From what I have read, they have real cash flow problems,
but thats another story......and probably one you wont agree with.
Anyways Doug, good talking to you....it's getting late over here in OZ.
I'll drop in again some time.

Oh, I know they are having problems. But if you get in and ranked for free, there is no risk involved.

Yes. Goes to show the PFI business model does not work very well. There is really no benefits to speak of. Unless you count the respidering every 48 hours thing a benefit? I don't. It means very little to me. Look at AltaVista as well. Do we think their PFI model has been a success? I don't think so. I don't know of a single PFI model that Has been a success. These engines need to find a model that works. Google has not seemed to have a problem doing this.

No doubt the AV PFI program has problems...the main issue being traffic. We get more spider visits from AltaVista then we do actual user referrals!~:eyes: However, the INK PFI program has more then paid for itself given the volume of traffic it generates through MSN. The beauty of the INK PFI (as opposed to PPC), is that the cost of the single yearly fee remains the same regardless of traffic volume!~ The greater the volume, the lower the cost-per-click, so to speak. All of our INK PFI pages more then covered the cost of inclusion within the first 1-2 months of submission, but you got to know your target market.;)
