I've used Express Submit after modifying my meta tags and changing some things on my site. I am being spidered every week and still can't find my site when I do a keyword search. Any help would be appreciated!

hey bkztx, first thing is you should move your site name to the end of the title tag instead of at the start of it.

others can continue until I look some more.

You do not need these tags. They will not help you in any way. They only take up space and make the spiders go through more junk before finding what they are really looking for.

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<META NAME="Abstract" CONTENT="Extensive collection of Gay and Lesbian Literature. Gay fiction and non-fiction. Gay and Lesbian Erotica.">
<META NAME="Owner" CONTENT="info@outinprint.com">
<META NAME="Category" CONTENT="Gay and Lesbian Literature">
<META NAME="Copyright" CONTENT="Copyright 2001 Out in Print Bookstore. All Rights Reserved">
<META NAME="distribution" CONTENT="global">
<META NAME="revisit-after" CONTENT="15 days">

Ok that brings us to the tags that matter.

As Doug said, move your company name to the end. This will bring the subject matter to the front. It should help you out. <title>OutinPrint.com - Gay and Lesbian Books</title>

You have way too many keywords. You need to make sure that the keywords you have on each page reflect the material on that page. Do not use generic terms that apply to your entire site. Do not use a word more than 2 times. Repeating the word will not help you in any way. That theory is old. I would thin them to something like this.

<META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="gay book store lesbian transgendered bisexual coming out homosexual queer literature pride triangle politics biography romance travel guide erotic stories history">

I changed your description a bit to help with the flow of reading. Remember this is the very first thing that people see in the search engines. They will judge your site based on this description.

<META NAME="description" CONTENT="OutinPrint.com is a gay owned and operated bookstore for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered community. We carry books by gay and lesbian authors, about gay subject matter, or of interest to the gay community.">

These are fine, but not really necessary. I would suggest you using a robots.txt.

<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="INDEX,FOLLOW">

In my opinion, it's not a problem to have those other meta tags on your site. They're not for search engine rankings, but they may serve other purposes. They will NOT bog down the search engines from finding what they want.

Thanks for the much needed help! I will make some changes and try my luck when the spider comes around on Thursday night.
