Hi all,
I noticed that on my daughters computer that my Website displayes incorrectly. I checked it on 2 PC's at work and on both sides of my dual boot(XP+ME) PC and it is fine in both 8x6 and 1024x768 resolution.
It is also fine in Netscape6 but for some reason on her ME machine running IE6 all the text is shifted all over the place(like the page is WAY too wide).
Could anyone who is so inclined please use the link below and take a peek and see if this is so on their machines. Also why it may be doing this?
Thanks in advance,
Jimi_l

It looks fine to me. I've heard that ME can do some funny things on computers though.

Second that, the combination of ME and IE6 can do some pretty gooofy things.
I am still not sure why M$ unleashed such a poor product as ME on the unsuspecting masses. ME is such a disaster. I really think the only reason they did it was to make some quick sales and clear more money to develop XP.

Hi jimi_l...
I'm on ME and IE 5.5 (I dumped IE6 as it is a disaster, at least in conjunction with ME) and the page displays fine.
Just a longshot but does she have her "View" - "Text Size" set to medium (in IE)?
You are using some interesting coding techniques that may or may not be part of the problem. For instance, I see sections where you have used lots of spaces to create erm..... lots of space (in the bulleted "Allow us to... section) where I would have used tables or CSS. As well, there is some other empty space in the actual code that could be deleted.
In adition, there are a few <td></td>'s without a non-breaking space in them (in code it's: " " - without the quotes) which can sometimes render incorrectly.
But it seems to view fine in my OS/Browser......

Hi there - I'm on the same settings as Blue and the top para of text appears left justified while the text list further down the page appears to be right justified with a lot of wasted white space in the middle. Is that how it is meant to display?

Funny, that, Kal.
Mine displays the top para left justified, but the text list is also left justified (though there is a lot of space). Actually, what I mean is the text list is centered directly below the top para, and it is left justified.

A minor thing...
A background color for the page is never specified. As a result, odd-balls like me who don't like white backgrounds in windows do not see a white background on the page.
As a result, those images with a white background look dated against a different colored background (Netscape 1.0 flashbacks).
But again, I'm in the minority and I see it happen fairly regularly.

Jimi I would suggest your daughter get rid of ME garbage and maybe reload 98.
The only good feature of ME was a very fast defrag. - about twice as fast as 98.
Keep that and junk the rest. M.E. caused me no end of problems when a bbggrrrrr "knowitall" technician loaded it on my machine without permission a couple of years back.
