Here is the deal...I have given up with MSN, I just can't crack it.
The site in my profile is just about as well ranked as a site can get for the term "disability insurance" on almost every major SE.
If anybody here has good skills with MSN, and can help me to obtain a top ten ranking for this search, without me having to sacrifice something that helps elsewhere, it's a thousand dollars to you.
I'm already listed in MSN at #32 last time I checked, so there is work to do.
Any takers?

Would you be willing to send $150 upfront for a description change? and would you be willing to make slight changes? Nothing major.
Maybe their fee is $199?

Many times over if it would help. I have a feeling both MSN and Looksmart do not account for frames, or noframes tags. Every time a new site comes into a relevant cat through looksmart, i drop another position. And I kill these other sites on every other SE.
If it is just a description change I'd be all over that.

I would have to think about this for awhile as I am pretty busy as it is and that would be a big chore that could take awhile.

oh, I agree with you in that the frames seem to be not considered.

newriver, I reviewed the site listed in your profile.
I noticed the <noframes> section has been optimized, however there is some JavaScript which could be moved to an external file (<script language="JavaScript" src="somescript.js"></script>"). Also, maybe a little more content in the <noframes> would help, such as a detailed site description or something along those lines. Another consideration, would be to create a non-framed doorway page which might place better.

Good comments on the JScript, JH. newriver are there any cats left in LSmart that are suitable where you are NOT already listed?
The idea of a non framed doorway is good but it would have to fill the requirements of a new catagory / subject, I took a quick look and you already listed in the main 3 cats that apply to you, I feel you dont really need a description change more of a URL change pointing to a new un framed entrance to the site. This could be achieved by submitting www.newriversite.com/index.htm to LS therefore leaving your default.cfm page untouched and still high ranking in other SE.
It is a shame you already have the 3 best cats sorted otherwise a simple table layout index.htm specialising in that cat description would have done it.

Thanks for the help, I think a non-framed page would work well, I can always pay the money to request they delete a listing from one of the three cats in LS, and to replace it with the new page. They way LS is hurting for $, i bet they would do it...we'll find out in a couple weeks when i do this.
Thanks for all the help everybody.

mmm, I've managed to get a framed site in 3rd for a very competitive keyphrase on MSN. Granted it could be an exception to the rule, but it is possible.

LOL. Amazing this happened this morning. :) I got a framed front page into Looksmart last week. This morning MSN picked it up and it is now ranked #7 out of 7 listing from the LS results on a "one word" keyword! NOT extremely competitive, but a good word for the site for buyers. .... About 1000 searches a day fron wordtracker.
Also ranked on a few 2-word phrases in MSN as well. YES. Optimize the noframes and get a good description and all should be fine. :)
Client does not know yet, but will be very pleased.
To show all the difference between Yahoo and Looksmart, the title in Looksmart is the business name of .... clientname.com ... just like that. There are ZERO keywords or phrases in the title in LS. This same title in Yahoo would have my client BURIED under a couple hundred or so results. Neither Looksmart nor MSN give a rats *ss about the title. Period. ...the way it should be.

Wow  2 framed sites accepted AND ranking well. Maybe things are changing. Yeah right!

I just checked ranks on MSN for this client. The results:
6 one and two word keywords are in the top ten on MSN.
8 are in the top 20 of results. Some of these have up to 4000 searches a day with 200,000 results in MSN. This is VERY unusual to have this many phrases come up in MSN. I always tell clients that they will be doing REAL well if only getting 2 phrases in the top ten in MSN.
Unbelievable for a framed site.
Keep in mind that the title of this site has ZERO keywords in it and other sites ranked lower DO have keywords in the title.
I am in shock.
Tell ya all what. I will submit your sites to Looksmart for $50 above the LS submission fee. :green:

Okay Great-1. That is fine. All who know me know I would not Ever post something like that if it were not true. I would have Waaaay to much to lose.
Not only that but I have continued to get good ranks in MSN with ALL clients. Please read other threads in which I state many times my feelings about how Looksmart and MSN work together on things and what LS does with a submission and why they do it.
Also, why I am always hyping up a Looksmart listing.
Maybe ask Hope in here as well with something that happened. :)

Actually Great-1, reading my post again, and I can see why many may not believe it. I am still rechecking things, etc cause it is hard for me to believe as well. :)
Again, I am in shock. I do normally acheive good ranks in MSN but this one was awesome.
You should put a smilie or something in the post when joking. :) But still, I can see how and why some would think that. I can't believe it and I just checked again.

Yeah, sorry about that. :)
Sarcasm doesn't translate very well through forums.
