Hi everyone!
I would like anyone to comment on the press release distribution companies like internetwire, internet.com and businesswire.com....tthough they charge a handsome amount for the press release distribution but they claim to have a reach of thousands of magazines and newspapers. Is it worth wile to use these serivices?? and does anyone know some other companies like that who offer more specific press release distribution??

Well,
I did no more than view these sites, as I too have no prior experience with this specific type of promotional medium.
I can only offer my opinion on what I saw this morning.
I have always been a firm believer that a combination of traditional and internet promotion is the most effective strategy to advance one's business or other internet entity.
I have used somewhat the same stratagies as these types of companies, but on a much smaller and localized basis, with great success.
I can only assume that to utilize the services of one of these types of companies would be nothing but beneficial, given that you carefully research your target market(s) and ensure that your promotional campaign is designed with the results of your research in mind.
---
You must ask these co's. to provide you with (preferably independant third party generated) statistical data that would demonstrate and prove out that your ROI would be worthwhile.
---
If you come up with a highly targeted combination traditional/Internet promotional campaign, I firmly believe it would be highly worth the investment.
