I currently advertise on both Overture and Google for many of my clients (especially in the first 2-3 months of a campaign).

For a current campaign, my CPC on Google is around $0.60 for insurance related terms and is $0.42/Click on Overture.

My current campaign for my Insurance client is recieving around 1000 Clicks per day, and their Insurance Lead/Click ratio was about 20%.

To cut costs I dropped my Google Campaign down to a minimal daily budget and soon after my Lead/Click ratio dropped down to about 15%. Which would mean my conversion ratio on Google was about 30% based on clicks from google etc.....

I wanted to know if anyone else thinks they're getting better conversion ratios on Google Vs Overture or vice versa.

I'm interested to know, since the CPC was higher on Google, but if the conversion ratio was what I suspect, the $/Lead was actually lower with the Google Campaign.

In my experience for my keywords Overture converts significantly better than Google.

I would imagine across separate industries you'll find massive differences for each campagin depending on the keywords, copy and website.

For what it's worth...

We pay Overture 2x what we pay Google, but the click-through-rate is 15x higher.

However, we get many more leads through Google.

We are trying both because it's not costing a fortune yet :-)

Been on Overture for about 18 months, just started with google 3 months ago and testing just 2 phrases.

My click-thru % on Google for the adwords is much higher than overture and conversion to sales is about double. The cps is about 1.5x higher on Google, but with sales being close to double the roi works. We'll be doing more with Google and eventually less with Overture.

We pay google about twice what we pay Overture but then we have four times as many keywords in there!
