Doorway pages

i have heard every other person talking about them, they say that doorway pages is the most essential part of marketing maintenance plan. Can anyone kindly explain me what actually doorway pages are( i am very confused:confused: ) and how to construct them?

A doorway page is essentialy a entrance page (hence the name) to your site, this doorway is then optimised for a paticular keyword / phrase and in some cases optimised for the individual SE.
Most of the old style doorways had 'enter' on the page and was a one way link into your site ie. you could not click any link within your site to find that page.

SE's started picking up on this technique and finding / removing these pages, they are not difficult to find analysing the sites linkage structure.

So the modern doorway page is now what I call an information page, it is still focused on your selected keyword / phrase but provides the spider and user with useful information on that subject, importantly these pages must contain the same navigation menu or links to the same pages as the rest of the site.

So to recap, the old style doorway page (sat outside of your site as an entrance) is now the information page (pulled into the site structure)

i just want to ask one more thing,
Do these doorway pages with navigational links are kept on some seperate domain names? or they are kept on the main domain name of the site?

I wouldn't suggest using doorway pages. These worked some time ago, but can cause trouble now. Many search engines see these as spam and for obvious reasons. There was a time, not that long ago when sites had 200-900 doorway pages.

If you have good content, then you will rank fine without such gimicks.

Hope, this is true, what I was getting at is using information pages, so if you target a new phrase then produce a page providing information on that phrase that benefits users and helps your SE rankings, effectivly expanding your site

Farhan, these should be fully integrated with your site.... totaly, domain, navigation, look and feel.... the lot
