Dont be afraid to speak up. What do you think? is there any good link trading software out there? Your experience? how is this?

http://www.linkpopularity.com/arelisreview.htm

or how is the other one thats so popular. I forge the name Zeus!...

Can these be used successfully and effectively without risk? Is it worth it or is it better to just browse, search, click, paste and send...? Id like to hear some good and bad experiences so we can get an honest idea of what we are dealing with here.

They are trouble. Manual is the best way.

Why exactly are they trouble? I was checking out the ARELIS website and it looks like the only automated task it performs is searching for relevant link partners. All requests for links must be done manually.

I respectfully disagree with Doug, sort of. Automated link requests are a nuisance, and very ineffective. Arelis helps you search for potential link partners, organize your requests, etc.

The thing is, you don't want to use their templated emails - make every request personal. Here's what I like to see:

1. Put the link to their site up first.
1a. Tell them where their link is.
2. Tell them why you liked their site enough to link to it.
2a. Tell them why your site is worth linking to.
3. Tell them where you would like your link to be.
4. Give them a title, description etc. that matches the rest of their links
4a. Don't ask for a 300-word ad, if that's not what's on their links page!
4b. Don't send them just a URL, if all their links have a name and description.
4c. Write a reasonable, hype-free description.
5. Don't pester them, don't argue with them, don't 'threaten' to remove their link if they don't link back.

linkpopularity.com is just a link pop. checking tool...it doesn;t help you build links....

as with any software, it is only as good as the user who uses it....

The great thing about Arelis is the links pages it creates. Basically you can display them any way you like using templates.
The finding links part is OK. I rather go to Google and look for links pointing to competition. Much more successfull.
About the sending email part, It is great for many. But just as many abuse the feature to use templates and send exactly the same email to many different websites. The key really is to personalize. This way your response rate is much, much higher!

Could you provide any examples of sites that gained a high pagerank as a result of using the software? The reason I ask is because axandra.com only has a pagerank of 5.

I don't have any examples for you right now that have more than five. www.bettersearchenginemarketing.com has 6 and they do use arelis. But Arelis does not neccesarily increase your PR. It increases your link popularity which will make you rank higher in google and some other search engines.
