Hi,
My web site has dynamically generated content. It's run on ColdFusion. Which means spiders are unable to index my content.
Can anyone offer any suggestions on where I can look or what I can do to promote and optimized my web site despite the fact that it is 'invisible'.
Thanks.

From what I understand it is quite simple to convert coldfusion to using static 'looking' url's, although I cant provide any more info than that as i dont use it, have you tried looking on the MM site?

It would be worth you reading that. :)

So, what is it about ColdFusion that tends to block SE's?

I have seen a couple of CF sites that were indexed without the static URL's, but the majority are "invisible."

I am soon getting a client that has this very problem and I have to have some semblance of a reasonable answer.

Welcome Patricia :hi:

Many search engines are now choosing to crawl dynamic URL’s containing symbols such as “?”. But for those that don't, consider integrating a parameter work-around to remove the offending symbols from your dynamic content and ensure search engines can index the bulk of your pages. Cold Fusion has a support forum that discusses how to do this here: http://forums.allaire.com/DevConf/index.cfm

More info here: http://www.promotionbase.com/article/485, here: http://www.xde.net/, here: http://spider-food.net/dynamic-page-optimization.html, here: http://www.alphasierrapapa.com/products/portalpagefilter/ and here: http://www.webanalyst.com.au/Products/ASPSpiderBait.htm

Of course if your dynamic pages don't contain "?", it is my understanding that your site is able to be indexed. Hope this helps.
