You are better off to become familiar with all the search engines first. Read up in here about everything as you are right, many threads in here about msn and how to rank. Many threads in each forum about ALL the search engines.

Spend a few weeks doing nothing but reading and learning. When you come across something you don't quite get, ask a specific question about it. There is lots of info in here.

As to your general question. In a nutshell:

Overture
Looksmart
Inktomi

Those are the se's from top to bottom that MSN uses in their results. Read up in each forum about them.

Firstly great forum i only came across this the other day and im very impressed. With regard to search engines i have been in the business for about 2 years of marketing one of the companies i work for and its been a huge sucess. Im currently using Espotting and Overture at the moment with a lot of Free listings in the top search engines and most are ranked very high.

I just find it difficult to get listed in 2 search engines inktomi and the directory linked with google i have forgotten the name any ideas?
