Sites with no discription

I have seen many and many sites in Yahoo directory with no discription at all. The more intresting part is that they rank high on keyword seaches in yahoo directory, though we have heard, rather belive that discription plays an important role in yahoo rankings. Can anyone comment on this please!

Some reasons a site may not have a description include the fact that when it was submitted, the submitter used a self-serving description or one that was not acceptable to Yahoo at all. Instead of simply denying the site, the editor added it to the directory without a description.

Yes. A site could still rank without a description, but you are better off with one. The title seems to be the most important part of the listing anyway. It should not be, but is.

Another thing is, and this may be just me but, I rarely click on search results that have no description.

To me this is why having a good description is of import. Call it "The Enticement Factor".

If the description contains what is relevant to what I'm searching for I'm more likely to click on it.
