We’ve changed the wording on the add url page.
It now says on the free option: provides no guarantee of a timely review. Hope that change prevents any future misunderstandings. As for the express feature look at it like this:
1) Use express submit if you need your site listed quickly.
2) Use express submit if you wish to financially help the directory.
3) Use free submit if your budget doesn’t permit paying the express option.
Regardless of the option you pick both forms of submissions are held to the same standards. The only exception is that express submit offers a timely review time of 2 Business Days while free submissions have no guarantee of a timely review...
In a nutshell, nothing else has changed because all submissions are reviewed. The express option simply helps to reduce the cost of running GoGuides.Org and opens the door for webmasters needing rapid inclusion in the directory....

While I understand your desire to generate revenue from your site and I understand that you have recently changed your submission guidelines, I submitted a site on August 20th and it has still to be reviewed. Can you give me some idea as to how long of a backlog you have there?

Zag, can you give some general feedback to others (like me) who submitted ages ago and haven't had any result?

Sorry for the tardy response.
Staff is working on aged submissions everyday.
This means we are working from the oldest submissions forward so give it a little more time and your site will be reviewed. Just keep in mind that were getting hammered with free submissions and that's causing a backlog...
Care to volunteer and help us out? :D

Regarding volunteering to GoGuides, I asked via email recently and was told that no editors were being accepted at this time. Is that correct? Thanks.

That's not correct. Who told you that?

Can a site that is considered as spam get in via the paid for option? what happens to the sites that pay and then are recognised as spam now or in the future?

>Can a site that is considered as spam get in via the paid for option?
nope because paid reviews are handled by staff.
>what happens to the sites that pay and then are recognised as spam now or in the future?
We don't allow spam in the directory that’s the bottom line. If a site gets approved its because it met our guidelines for being listed. If that sites content later violates our guidelines (because of the old bait and switch technique) then that site will be removed regardless if they paid for a review or not.
Clarification:
We offer paid reviews so webmaster can get rapid inclusion if their site meets our guidelines. We do NOT offer paid inclusion only paid reviews.

I think you mean you offer paid review for a rapid 'review'. :)... not a rapid inclusion.

Well, a paid review IF approved leads to rapid inclusion because its all done in 2 Business Days.) Nonetheless I changed the text on that last post for better clarification.
