Welcome to the forums brainfox! :hi:
What is it that makes you all different than the other thousand ppc search engines out there?
I see you have an affiliate program with "thousands" of affiliates. How do you deal with affiliate fraud?

Cost, support and service.
Cost - BrainFox cost is only $0.001 per click to start and has only a $5.00 entry fee. Why is this significant. Well, for starters over 40% of the BrainFox client base of over 20,000 advertisers is based on users from outside the United States. We have found that so many web sites just don't have the advertising budget and while $5.00 and $0.001 may seem like nothing to most, to many it's actually a big deal and we try to help those we would traditionally not be able to advertise on the internet.
Support - The BrainFox support staff is top notch. BrainFox has consistently ranked high in it's support responses being that we deliver results and do our best to attend to the needs of our clients. Our average response time is less than 6 hours and typically no more than an hour during normal business hours.
Service - BrainFox delivers results and has done so for almost 3 years. So many have lost faith in this industry with all the fly by night operations but people can rest assured that BrainFox has been here for a long time, one of the first in the industry and we plan to stick around for a long time to come. People must be assured that their investment's in pay per click options are secure and that is what BrainFox provides.
All this combined has given BrainFox the continued support of it's of it's enormous client base. Being that we depend on repeat customers and word of mouth, we believe that the combination above is a winning one.

At this moment in time, the BrainFox affiliate program is currently being revamped. We recently introduced a much more efficient user interface and are doing our best to incorporate the affiliate program into this.
As for the BrainFox affiliate program itself, it has undergone many changes over the past 2+ years. The first and most significant is our interpretation of fraud. Fraud is a very serious issue in this industry and especially in the Pay Per Click industry being that a click thru which is the standard lead measurement is much easier to come by than the traditional lead in which users have to fill out a form or go through some type of action. Being that the ease of generating revenue is so easy to accomplish, the ease of generating junk traffic is also easy.
How have we addressed this problem? Well, that in itself is where BrainFox does have a slight advantage. While there are many ways of battling junk traffic, we have found that the most efficient way is to look for patterns in the larger amount of traffic itself. BrainFox uses all the traditional methods of monitoring junk traffic but the most efficient way that we have found is to compare this traffic to the overall traffic received. If we find that there is patterns in traffic, we can typically isolate it and determine if it's junk.
One good example is a sudden increase in regional traffic. We have found that while our techniques improve, so does the methods in which junk traffic is generated. We have found that if we look for patterns that originate from one region, one type of user base or even one network that it can be typically weeded out as junk traffic.
One example I can give is that recently, we had a partner that was generating what most would perceive as legitimate traffic but on closer observation, we found that almost all the traffic was coming from .edu based ip's. When we used that and matched it up with 10,000's of hits received from this one partner, we later found that the traffic based on the ip's was and the timing in which the clicks that were too coincidental to be legitimate.
After exhaustive research, we found that the clicks were actually generated using a script that the partner had implanted on educational systems across the country. We terminated that affiliate and then credited back the users accounts.
One significant thing that makes BrainFox policies different than most is that while so many companies keep the same policies year after year, BrainFox does it's best to adapt to the need and request of it's users. BrainFox not always get it right from day one but it does adapt and change with the growing market.
Any suggestions would be more than welcome but I hope I answered the questions in depth.

Thanks for the good information!
It would seem affiliate fraud would be impossible to curtail. That's a big reason why Overture got rid of affiiates awhile ago. You seem to be doing the best you can with it.
Good luck to you!

Brainfox could do with some more quality partners to raise search levels and therefore traffic.

Hi Alex,
I had a close look at your directory, and I was really impressed by the 'research' tool. I think you should give it much more prominance. It is not easy to find!
It would also be nice to have a link to 'research' next to each keyword that a user enters - which should help them quite a lot in determining the right level of bidding.
Cheers
MC
