Traffic from MSN?

I have been getting traffic from MSN searches in great numbers from a site I just launched. But, I am unable to find it anywhere in MSN under my url or any of my keywords.

I have good position in Google and Yahoo already. Could this have anything to do with it?

I refuse to pay the .15 per click for the LookSmart listing.

Does anybody know why this is happening?

Google and Yahoo have no bearing on MSN listings.

Is your site listed in Inktomi? Is it listed in ZEAL? or do you have any paid ads/PPC listings that would appear on the top of the results of MSN?

Do you have access to your referrer log files? The referrers should contain msn and the search phrases you are being found on.

I'm kinda new to this...but have been reading alot of material on SEO and optimized my site the best I knew how.

I do have an Overture account I set up.. and they are supposed to be affiliated with MSN... but I don't find any of my keyword phrases in MSN directly.

Haven't seen much info on Inktomi or Zeal.

Might sound like a stupid question but how do I find my listing in these engines?

You can go to the search engine and type your domain into the search box to see if it is listed.

Your very best bet is to spend a few months reading all the info in here. Ask questions on things you don't understand. That is really the only way you will learn.

How do you know you're getting lots of traffic from MSN? If you know that, I'm assuming you can see your log files. If you can see your log files, then they should also be showing you the keywords people found you under. No?
