OK. I submitted a site to Looksmart yesterday which got accepted very quickly.

I just went to see whether the listing had appeared and it hadn't. However, I did notice that a new listing has appeared for the site in Zeal. Why or how would this happen?

I can't understand how they would appear in Zeal before LS?

Also, is is a fair assumption that the description in Looksmart will be the same as it is in Zeal. If so, then I am going to have one happy client. For every search term we targeted, we are winding up as number 1 in Zeal. They took my original description and actually added an extra line which has given my client a HUGE benefit.

Any thoughts on why Zeal and not LS though?

Only thing I can figure is that when LS sends the listing to Zeal, they are quicker on the draw.

LS has to go thru some jumps before the listing goes live with them. They only update the directory every 4 to 5 days so it depends on when your listing hits their cycle.

That is great that you got a good description!

Let me make sure about this; you have Never submitted to Zeal... right? If so, then you will get the same description in LS as they are who would have sent your listing to Zeal.

Nope. Never ever submitted to Zeal.

If that really is the case then my client is going to jumping for the moon when he sees it!

Thanks, Doug.

Mazy, I telepathically sent your listing to Zeal, so that's how it got in.

hehehe...actually, I agree with Doug. Zeal is probably just faster. How cool, though! And yes, I'll betcha the description will be the same. Has it showed up in LS yet?

I do know you have to take a quiz and pass it first. I have not done this, so not sure what else.

I also know the site has to be non-commercial.

Signing up for a Zeal membership (http://www.zeal.com/users/register.jhtml) allows you to rate, review, and add sites. Although you cannot add sites until you have passed the Member Quiz (http://www.zeal.com/zeality/member_quiz_start.jhtml)

You can find this info at zeal.com
