I have visited other sites which our company can link to. But I have no idea on what to write to write to those sites. I do not want them to think its Spam. But I want to get the message across clearly and to show that we can both benefit.

We are an ISP Guide (http://www.theispguide.com) we help users find an isp. I am going to add there links in our link to us page before emailing the webmaster. .

Any idea or a basic template which I can edit for my needs would be fantastic.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums Karen! :hi:

You should email each one with a personal message and try to find a first name of the owner or webmaster and address them.

You should visit the site and then write what you liked about the site and give them the reason you linked to them. Show them the link and tell them that it is Not a requirement that they link back to you, but it would be appreciated. Just let them know it's not necessary as you simply think their site would be interesting to your visitors so you linked.

Hope this helps!

Dougs advice is on the money. I also remember some other threads in here discussing this topic. If you do a search, you might just come up with some gems.

Good advice Doug!

Also, response rates may be 1/4 to 1/3 of the e-mails you send out so don't get too worried if most people don't reply.

Thanks!

I get so tired of seeing these link requests emails that clearly indicate the sender did Not view my web site. All they did was send email to the top ten sites listed for a search term to request a link.

It's so easy to visit a site and then write what you like about it. As long as you let the site know that you know about their site and tell them the 'why' you are linking to them, your replies back will be much better. Otherwise, the delete button gets worn out. :)

To learn how to write a good link request read this article

(You'll need to scroll down a bit for the request letter but I suggest you read the whole article)
