What seminar are you talking about, Opt?

If you're talking about the Search Engine Strategies conference, it's much, much more than a seminar. And yes, it's well-worth attending if you can afford it.

They have 3 separate tracks of sessions going on for all levels of SEOs, and each conference gets better than the next. Danny is always trying to improve them, and they've come a long way since the first one I attended 2 years ago.

For someone like you that knows a good amount already, it would be especially helpful. I think for newbies, it might get quite confusing (but still worth it...they just have to let things sink in).

If you're talking about some other seminar, then I'm not sure!

Yes I am talking to the one you mentioned

I may have the opportunity to go...Do you suggest to bring another employee? are 3 tracks running at a timer on each day? Or is it 1 track per day?

Yes, bring a collegue so you can get to more sessions!

Three tracks all run at the same time. So you have a choice each session of 3 different sessions to attend. Sometimes it's a hard choice, sometimes it's easy. Depends on what you're interested in, and what you already know.

How often should a company attend these conferences, once a year, twice a year, etc? We are newbies to SEO.

We attended the conference in December, should I attend the one in Boston also or will it basically be a repeat of the same material?

Thanks!

There will be new stuff, but there will be lots of repeats too. Depends on how well you feel you know stuff, and how much more you want to learn!

The other important aspect is networking. This is the only place where you'll get to meet so many industry contacts at the same time.

If I was to choose one per year and I lived in Utah, it would be the San Francisco one, usually held in August. :) Its location (I love SF), its size (it's the biggest) and its proximity to most of the search engines (i.e. it's better attended by the SEs) make it the best, IMO.

Alan, I hope you're coming to Boston in March. Any chance?
